Players who could join the Premier League on Deadline Day before the window shuts
Jules Koundé from Sevilla to Chelsea
This has been a signing that the Blues have been working on all summer. It is true that the Blues have a really strong defense and Thomas Tuchel’s side has shown to be one of the title contenders this season.
Despite all that, one of their main objectives was to sign the promising 22-year-old Jules Koundé from Sevilla. The French center-back has played for Sevilla for three years now and he has been a key piece for them in becoming one of the strongest Spanish teams to play against.
Koundé fits Touchel and his Chelsea system and it would be a great signing if the Blues can finally complete it.
The deal has been on and off many times during the summer and Chelsea would try one last push to convince Sevilla to sell one of their most promising players in the squad.
The Blues have submitted bids of €50m and €55m but Sevilla hasn’t accepted any of them and they only want to sell him if a bid of €80m or more is placed on the table.
Is hard to believe that Chelsea would invest so much money on a center-back having a great defense but Koundé is a player they have wanted all summer.
Also, Koundé is not happy with the situation since he would like to play for Chelsea but Sevilla stands firm on their decision since they think they would need to find a replacement with not much time and they would likely overpay for his substitute.
One thing is clear and that is Tuchel wants Koundé to be part of his team if it is this season or the next. The only thing left to see now is if Chelsea gives in to the €80m demand now. Selling Kurt Zouma to West Ham gives them some cash to move around with in the market on the final day.
