Premier League opening day predictions: Brentford and Arsenal leads us off
Newcastle 1-3 West Ham St. James’ Park, Newcastle
West Ham have just looked too silky on the ball during their Premier League prep. Their transition from defence into attack has just been seamless and sexy when watching. With hitman Michail Antonio fit and well-rested, this game already has its team with three points and that’s the Hammers.
Newcastle have impressed but haven’t really looked as big of a threat as their opponents for the day. St. James’ Park will be rocking but will it be enough to give their side the edge? Not sure, West Ham just look really good at the moment and appear to have the momentum from last season still with them.

Spurs 1-2 Manchester City Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London
Not too positive about how this game is going to pan out with Spurs looking defensively better under Nuno Santo and Manchester City still bleeding in their players returning from all over.
Also, Grealish starting games week in and week out would have been a norm – now, not so sure anymore with him being at City. But what really makes this one interesting is the Harry Kane situation. Will this be his last in the White of North London and the goodbye before he makes the switch to Man City?
I foresee Spurs just falling short of a win or a point collected from this one. However, I will not be surprised if Nuno upsets Guardiola’s plans for the season with a Spurs win on opening day. We all know Wolves, under Santo, was the thorn in Manchester’s side and sometimes pulled off some amazing results against them.
Tottenham have also been good in the pre-season, so could have the right mix and attitude going into this one. A narrow 1-2 win to City for this prediction.
