Lower mid-table obscurity

11. Norwich City

My surprise package of the 2021/22 season, I have Norwich turning their fortunes around and staying in the Premier League with a solid season.

The Canaries have recruited very well after losing Buendia, bringing in highly-rated stars, Billy Gilmour and Milot Rashica. They have also kept hold of a lot of the players who feature in the Premier League for them last time, that top-level experience could prove invaluable to them.

Look out for Norwich to surprise a few, eleventh.

12. West Ham United

The Hammers fall down the order after a very strong year. West Ham will fall back down the table as they struggle to fully manage European football.

I have no doubt the East London side will be fine and probably pick up some surprising results, but I donā€™t believe they have the strength in depth to juggle all their commitments.

Said Benrahma has had a strong pre-season and will no doubt push on, but failure to bring in cover for Michail Antonio and some good quality in central defence could cost David Moyesā€™s men.

A pretty bog-standard league season for the Hammers as they prioritise Europe, twelfth.

13. Newcastle United

Despite the majority of Newcastle fanā€™s thoughts, their Premier League status will be fine and they will have the same style of season they have had for the past few years, midtable obscurity.

The Magpies will almost certainly flirt with relegation, as Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson inevitably get injured but will lift themselves up into the usual 11-13 positions. Should they manage to bring in Joe Willock then this side will be fine, despite most likely being shrouded in controversy all season.

14. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves are a strange one going into the season. They have a lot of top-quality players, but there isnā€™t much to know about new manager Bruno Lage and there are questions over if Jose Sa can really fill Rui Patricioā€™s boots.

The quality in this side is what will make them fine and probably help them to get some scalps over higher clubs but can see this year being of the transitional variety.

Wolves have too much quality to be in trouble but will be a slow burner ā€“ fourteenth.
