Romelu Lukaku has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world in the past seasons.
He has been a scoring machine for Inter where he scored 62 goals in 90 games across all competitions in just two years.
Also, he was a big part of Inter’s Serie A championship last year where they ended a drought of 10 years without a major trophy.
Now why revenge?
Lukaku has had some amazing runs in the Premier League with Everton and West Brom but with Chelsea and Manchester United he did not have his brightest days.
Romelu Lukaku is currently in Monaco with his agent Pastorello for some ‘technical’ stuff. If there are no other changes, he’ll be in London in the next hours to sign his contract. 🔵🛫 #CFC

There’s no issue or problem with Chelsea - Romelu will be announced as #CFC player soon.
It has been a weird experience for Lukaku in the EPL since he played extremely well with two clubs, but with the other two clubs, he did not play as expected.
In this slideshow, I will review every club Lukaku played for in the EPL and the reasons for his success or, his failings.

The Blues, who are the team that just signed Lukaku, were the team that had the least trust in him and the team where he played the worst.
He was at Chelsea for only two seasons where he was 18 in the first and 20 in the second (when he was 19 he was loaned to West Brom).
Chelsea never gave Lukaku a real chance in the first team, he only played 10 games in the EPL scoring zero goals. By this “poor” performance of Lukaku, they decided to loan him to West Brom after playing only 8 games.
He had a phenomenal run at West Brom that we will discuss later, but when he came back, opportunities were the same, even less, the Belgian only played two EPL games.
Even though he did not get a lot of playing time, Everton were very interested in him and signed him for just €28 million, giving him the No. 10 jersey.
Did the Blues regret their decision?
Well clearly, they did since they are signing him back after they realized how good the striker is.
They sold him for €28 million, now they are finishing an agreement with Inter of €115 million. This is one of their main reasons why they should regret not giving Lukaku a chance, the amount of money they lost and now must pay.
Also, Lukaku could have been a great help for Chelsea in the past Premier Leagues because of how physical he is and the scoring machine he is.
€115m is a big fee for Romelu Lukaku, but his stats are impressive:

Is it time for revenge?

This is one of the main reasons why Lukaku decided to leave Inter; for a new challenge again with Chelsea.
The Belgian striker wants revenge at Stamford Bridge and is hungry to prove himself with the club, which was the first club to give him an opportunity outside of Belgium.
With the level of the Blues at this moment at an all-time high and the young players they have, Lukaku can be a huge help in Tuchel’s squad.
The position they struggled the most in last season was the striker position and with the quality of Lukaku, the position would be more than covered.
If the Blues manage to have a similar season to the last one, with Lukaku they can easily be the main contenders for the title and they might have another big run in the Champions League.
If you ask me, there could not be a better momentum than this for Lukaku to come back to Stamford Bridge.
He is probably at the peak of his career, he is mature and he is hungry for more and hungry to make a name for himself in Chelsea’s history.

Even though it was a short run, Lukaku had one of his most efficient Premier League runs at West Brom.
He played 35 games where he only started 20 and scored 17 goals – he was only 19 years old. The Belgian striker was on loan from Chelsea and proved that he could be very valuable in the EPL but Chelsea was not so convinced.
Lukaku helped West Brom to achieve an 8th-place finish in the 2012-13 season. They haven’t been able to get into the top 10 again barring one more time since then, including two relegations, the last being last season, and then spending at least two years in the Championship.
This particular campaign helped Lukaku a lot individually, it was his fifth-best scoring season out of his twelve seasons in his career.
Also, at only 19 years old, it gave him a lot of experience in the EPL, which would help him in the future with Everton where he did amazing things for them.

Lukaku spent four seasons at the Toffees where he established himself to be one of the best strikers in the world.
He scored 68 goals in 141 games in the EPL during these four campaigns. In the 2016-2017 season, he scored 25 goals and was only behind the 29 goals of Harry Kane for the Golden Boot race.
Everton was Lukaku’s first big challenge where he was given a more significant role which meant that the fans and the club expected a lot from him. He fulfilled these expectations as he had a brilliant runout at Goodison Park.
After his four excellent seasons with the Toffees, Manchester United came knocking for him and decided to spend €75 million on the Belgian striker.

Lukaku came to the Red Devils as one of the most expensive strikers in the EPL.
In his two seasons, he played 66 games and scored 28 goals, which is not that terrible but it was not what the fans were expecting after Manchester United forked out €75 million for him.
The Old Trafford faithful can be very demanding and for them, Lukaku was not good enough or was not trying hard enough.
He had a pretty decent first season scoring 16 goals and assisting 7 – which is pretty good overall. Also, United ended up in 2nd place that season so Lukaku was good for the fans, but when the second season came around everything changed.
United ended up the season in 6th place, which many fans blamed Lukaku for it. The Belgian striker had a very disappointing campaign where he only scored 12 goals and collected no assists.
After the poor turnaround and all the critics, Lukaku did not have the energy to keep playing at Old Trafford – this made him hand in a “transfer request” even though Ole Gunnar Solskjær wanted him to stay.

After this he switched to Inter, Lukaku transformed his career, has elevated his game, and is at the peak of his powers right now. He went from a terrible year at United to having one of the best charges in his career while in Italy.
This change is probably one of the main reasons for Lukaku’s comeback to Chelsea which could not come in a better moment.
