The final three clubs, Fulham, West Brom, and Sheffield, in our Premier League MVP series, are also the three clubs who were demoted, not having what it takes to stay in the big leagues.

Hard to think they still had outstanding outfielders when doing so poorly throughout the campaign. However, it could have gotten a lot uglier earlier if they didn’t have a particular standout player.

Fulham and West Brom were delighted with their promotion in 2020 but could not follow Leeds United, the other promoted side, and stay up in the English top flight.

From one of the strangest Premier League seasons, we have gone ahead and selected the best-performing player from each team and state why the individual is being named the MVP of their respective club.

Here we look at Fulham, West Brom, and Sheffield’s MVPs for the season. These players deserve a summer transfer to another Premier League side, as they performed in below-average teams.

Ademola Lookman – Fulham

Fulham only lasted one season in the Premier League after their promotion. A disastrous campaign with only 5 wins in their run, tied with West Brom for the fewest wins by a club.

Lookman, one of the youngest players on the team showed that he is of Premier League caliber even though his team was relegated.

He scored 4 goals, delivered 4 assists, and created 115 opportunities on goal, which are a lot for a team that’s been downgraded from the top flight.

He was the player with the second-most minutes this season for Fulham, only behind Tosin Adariabioyo, another youngster who had a good run.

Also, Lookman completed 86 dribbles, placing him sixth in the team. A really good overall performance from Lookman who surprised many fans and clubs.

Matheus Pereira – West Brom

As mentioned earlier in this article, West Brom only had 5 wins during the whole season which gave them a 19th-place finish.

Matheus Pereira showed all season long that he can be a Premier League giant and he can maybe become one of the key players for a top team. He scored 11 goals, assists 6, and created 103 opportunities on goal.

It was a very good league showing for Pereira who is now very unlikely to stay at West Brom in the Championship next season.

It is a shame that after such numbers from the Brazilian, it wasn’t enough to save his team from relegation.

Also, he was the player with the 4th-most through balls in the EPL with 11, and the 3rd-most nutmegs in the EPL with 9.

Aaron Ramsdale – Sheffield United

After a very good showing in the 2019/2020 campaign and finishing in 9th place, Sheffield struggled to replicate this form and will now play Championship football.

The poorest of them all were the Blades with no football illustrated and no clear idea of a good system. Sheffield struggled a lot and they got relegated back in April already.

Even though they were placed last in the standings and conceded the fourth-highest number of goals with 63 conceded, their keeper was their biggest star.

I know it sounds weird to say that the stopper of the team sitting at the very bottom of the table is their best player, but what Ramsdale did this season for Sheffield was amazing. It could have ended up a lot worse without him in between the sticks.

Ramsdale had the second-highest number of saves in the EPL with 147 saves made. Sheffield’s defense was poor this year which required Ramsdale to perform at an outstanding level.

This amazing performance from the English goalkeeper got him an England national team call-up in Gareth Southgate’s provisional squad for Euros.

This performance from the 22-year-old keeper would probably draw attention from big clubs in The Top Flight.
