Danny Ings – Southampton

The Saints had a really strong start to the season where they won five games, tied one, and lost two in their first eight outings.

Ings started really strong with five goals in these eight games. He had a brilliant season indeed but injuries came and derailed his and Southampton’s campaign. He only played 29 games but scored 12 goals and assisted a further 4.

The Saints went from a top-of-the-table side to being very close to relegation this season but Ings’ performances were a big help to keep them in The Top Flight.

The Englishman was surprisingly left out of Southgate’s provisional squad for Euros but injuries could be one of the main factors for his omission.

Honorable mentions – James Ward-Prowse

What a brilliant season from the Saints captain this year. He played every minute this season and scored 8 goals, delivered 7 assists, and created 84 opportunities on goal.

Also, he had a very decent 80.8% pass completion. His good performance earned him a spot for the England provisional squad for the Euro.

Because of his performance this year he would probably make the actual squad for the Euro.
