Best Premier League Signings of 20/21 – West Ham man will surprise you

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – Tottenham Hotspur
A huge fan favourite at Southampton, Hojbjerg made the decision to make the move to North London this season, costing Mourinho a cool £15 million.
Already, however, Dan Levy should be happy to have spent the money as he has proved to be a welcome addition in the heart of midfield.
A mainstay and defensive stalwart, his role in this Spurs side has him commonly playing as a defensive midfielder as opposed to the box-to-box role he held at St. Mary’s.
Comparing his numbers to the 19/20 season, Hojbjerg has taken a noticeable dip in most of his offensive categories whereas a rise is to be seen in his defensive numbers.
He now averages a total of 1.9 clearances per 90 as opposed to 1.4 last season. Shots blocked have risen to 0.25 from 0.14 and his fouls committed have taken a jump to 2.1 from 1.6.
Much of the attention he deserves is largely going unnoticed by many due to the expected prolific form of Kane and Heung min Son & the media attraction that comes with Jose Mourinho but Spurs have got themselves a high-level player for a mid-level price.
