#4 Mason Mount – Crystal Palace vs. Chelsea

Mason Mount is enjoying a fine breakout season for Chelsea and has arguably been their best player this season.

While he was putting in brilliant performances since the start of the season, he has become a much better FPL asset since Thomas Tuchel took over.

He has good underlying stats to back it up and could prove to be a handful for the Palace defence this week. Mount is on most set-pieces and could potentially be on penalties depending on whether Jorginho is on the pitch.

Mount isn’t the most explosive option though and seems to be the type of player that keeps ticking and likes to pop up with goals and assists from time to time rather than hauling big.

Havertz seems to be an alternative option that is more of a high upside pick but comparatively less nailed on.

The stats below combined with Mount’s nailed-ness make me lean towards him although if Havertz was certain to play upfront it could have been a much trickier decision.

Another thing worth pointing out is Palace’s tendency to concede from corners. If Mount’s delivery from corners are on point then one of the Chelsea centre-back’s could easily find their name on the scoresheet.
