Since the restart of the Premier League, Manchester United is enjoying an unbeaten run across all competitions.
On top of it, they have scored goals aplenty alongside shattering multiple records. With the season reaching the business end, fringe players have come again into the spotlight and one of those is Jesse Lingard.
Jesse Lingard has featured only in one FA Cup game since the resumption of football where he failed to leave his mark on the game. With him returning to action is Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford, but it is only Jesse Lingard who has a point to prove.
The attacking midfielder, who can also help the team as a winger, has produced dismal performances this season. There might be plenty of reasons behind it, but the player has failed to perform consistently. Jesse Lingard is 27 already and is at his career prime. However, the player has been unable to shoulder the responsibilities at Old Trafford.
Along with Lingard’s inconsistency, the arrival of 21-year-old Daniel James has worsened the situation for the England international. The former Swansea star has fared better than the Englishman with three goals and six assists to his name in top flight football.
Is also bein said that Manchester United is interested in players like Donny van de Beek and Jadon Sancho, and it is high time for the academy graduate to look beyond Manchester United. On the other hand, United have stockpiled the middle of the park.
Would you choose him over Grealish? 👍👎 #mufc https://t.co/bol68R7XWj

Scott McTominay and Fred are rotating and sharing the responsibility when Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, and Nemanja Matic do not start games for the club. With Hannibal Mejbri looking to breakthrough, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to make up his mind regarding Jesse Lingard.
Here are the three reasons why Jesse Lingard has no future at the Manchester club…

1. Mino Raiola connection and his Italian dreams
According to the reports, Jesse Lingard has signed up with one of the most powerful agents, Mino Raiola. He is also the agent of the World Cup winner, Paul Pogba.
Mino Raiola is known for his absurd comments about the club. Most recently in the Pogba saga, Manchester United faced the wrath of Mino. The agent tried very hard to proctor a move for Paul Pogba, but it didn’t materialize. With one more player being linked with the same agent, it could potentially disrupt the squad harmony.
Reports suggest that Jesse Lingard is in contact with his former teammate Ashley Young and Roma defender, Chris Smalling. They further stated the player has asked what life and the playing conditions are like in Italy. With West Ham United, AS Roma and Milan linked with the player, it would be better for Manchester United to sell the disgruntled player.
2. Surplus of requirement players at Old Trafford
Everyone knows that the 27-year-old operates as an attacking midfielder for the Old Trafford outfit. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already has multiple players who can play in CAM position. Bruno Fernandes, Juan Mata, and Andreas Periera can all operate in the same position and have performed better than Lingard there.
As previously mentioned, the addition of Daniel James has added the required flare to the Red Devils’ flanks. Mason Greenwood has performed whenever he has started on the right-wing or as a right forward. He is a regular starter with his stunning performances following the restart.
Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard will now be represented by super-agent Mino Raiola. 🤝🔴

These players have pushed Jesse to the fringe. The question is, what is the use of a player if he is not deployed correctly? With Manchester United preparing themselves for high profile transfers, it would be better to ship off the player that has reached surplus of requirement.
3. Absence of quality in the player
Despite being the student of Sir Alex Ferguson, the player has disciplinary issues within. The videos came into light when he badmouthed Marcus Rashford during a training sessions. Apart from these, Lingard is not a quality player compared to that of Bruno Fernandes or Paul Pogba.
Jesse Lingard does not possess the array of skills the aforementioned midfielders carry in their artillery. Paul Pogba has a vision and can provide the killer pass when he is deployed upfront in the midfield area. When Jesse Lingard plays, it prevents Paul Pogba from being a difference-maker in the middle of the park.
When compared to one more No 10, Bruno Fernandes, Jesse Lingard stands no chance to replace the former Sporting midfielder. Fernandes has been the fresh breathe of air at Old Trafford and has seven goals and six assists in ten games in Premier League. Whereas, Jesse Lingard has only two goals for the side in 32 games across all competitions.

Manchester United has an emotional connection with the player as he’s been there for 20 years. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the right path to rebuilding a club which is in ruins. In order to make the space for big money moves, Jesse Lingard should be sold. It can also help the player to reinvent himself.
