After a series of tedious dialogues, Manchester City and Bayern Munich finally agree on transfer terms for Leroy Sane to the Bundesliga champions.

In a bid to fill the void created due to the departure of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, Bayern Munich cited Leroy Sane as the ideal candidate to hold the attacking duties on a long-term basis.

Despite City’s fervent efforts to tie the Germany international to an improved contract extension, the prospect of returning to his homeland and at one of Europe’s elite was too good to turn down for Sane.

Citing the 24-year-old’s desire to relocate, Manchester City marked the price at nearly £90m. To the misfortune of the Cityzens, an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury coupled with a thin contract ending in 2021 ensured that Die Roten got Leroy Sane for just £55m – £45m upfront fee with potential add-ons worth £10m.

At the time of writing this, Leroy Sane landed in Munich with his medical and other formalities to be completed before putting pen to his contract at FC Bayern.

On Sane’s move to Bayern, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wished well for the player who nurtured and developed into a lethal wide forward under his tutelage.

"It looks like it but it is not already done, There are some little issues but it looks like he is going to go to Munich. We wish him all the best and big thanks for our years together. He will have another chapter at a fantastic club in Bayern Munich. He wanted to leave. Everyone has their own life and he decided to move on. I would have loved for him to stay but he believed he would be better and happier there. (via MEN)"

With Leroy Sane’s Man City spell coming to a close, Pep Guardiola would be looking at alternatives to reinforce his attacking options to mount another Premier League challenge next season.

Sane’s departure trouble for Man United?

Currently, Manchester United are on a dream run of 15 games without being beaten. However, as glorious the streak might be, Solskjaer is well aware of the areas which need to be fixed before his side is considered a European elite.

No matter how good their progress is, United’s squad could do with the addition of three or four top talents to consider themselves on par with the league’s pacesetters, Liverpool and Man City.

To make the next step of their evolution, Solskjaer has shortlisted Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish as the prime candidates to arrive at the Old Trafford ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

But, there might be a catch, according to the emerging reports, at least. Now, given the hard cash at City’s disposal, suggestions hint that Guardiola might be tempted to try to lure Jack Grealish to the other side of Manchester.

Villa’s survival bid in dire straits. The English playmaker’s asking price believed to be in the region of £80m could plummet to around £40m-£45m if the Lions’ Championship status is confirmed for next season.

What could still happen in the Manchester side’s transfer dealings?

As everyone across the footballing world waits for something concrete to arise regarding Man United’s transfer bid for Jadon Sancho, there could be an intriguing twist left in this saga.

During the negotiations when Sancho sealed a move to Borussia Dortmund from the Sky Blues, no buy-back clause was agreed on. However, there was an interesting option to match the bid for which Die Borussen agree to sell the England international.

"Principally we don’t make contract details public, But what you mean here is, actually, not really relevant, because it would be at most a matching right. That would have no significance at all for us, apart from having to talk with City if an offer came up. But that’s very theoretical. Notwithstanding Man City’s status-quo, as they find themselves hit with UEFA sanctions, the lofty ambitions of the owners could mean the noisy neighbours flexing their financial muscles yet again.

Crucially for United, the aforementioned players are keen on a move to Old Trafford and being a part of an emerging squad. This factor inclines this saga a bit towards Solskjaer’s Red Devils.

After a period of astute spending in the previous two transfer windows, this is the time for United chiefs to hold their nerve and believe in the work going on behind the scenes to convince the players of the ongoing project at Old Trafford.
