Liverpool’s long-term plan continues with Rhian Brewster’s Swansea loan

Liverpool’s promising forward Rhian Brewster has completed a loan move to Championship side, Swansea City. The future for Klopp looks a bright red.

On Wednesday morning, the club from Anfield announced the departure of one of the most promising youngsters, Rhian Brewster. He has already joined up with the club and will be away on a short stint, lasting till the end of the current campaign.

"Rhian Brewster has today completed a loan move to Swansea City until the end of the season.  The Liverpool striker will link up with the Championship side for the remainder of their push for promotion to the top flight, with Steve Cooper’s team currently sitting sixth in the table."

The growth of the young Reds

This move took place soon after a stunning show by Liverpool and their youngsters in the second Merseyside derby of the 2019-2020 term. The final score was 1-0, which you could argue wasn’t a true reflection of the 90 minutes played out.

In saying this, when the boys ran out against the men at Anfield over the weekend past, the Toffees started off as the better team as it was predicted. Then came the whistle for the second 45 minutes of the game, and it played out… Everton was the only side not to come out of the dressing room after the halftime break.

This is where we could easily notice the high levels of the young Reds, and how it was way above their neighbouring counterpart. Totally outplayed and outmatched by a far better, and youthful Liverpool side. In the end, the result a fair one but by no means a true reflection of the game.

During the 90 minutes, as well as after the FA Cup match, it’s obvious and clear to observe the Anfield side has a bright future, brighter than most. Their youth is as effective as their seniors. Mostly, reliable.

Swansea has already outlined the role the youthful striker will play down in Wales. Graham Potter left the Welsh side but they are still in good hands with Steve Cooper at the helm. He has them sitting in sixth place and has secured the loan of a brilliant young striker.

For all the parties involved, this is a great move. Brewster needs first-team experience. The Swans need a young athletic player, and Liverpool needs him to get minutes on the pitch. The move made all the sense for Klopp and Cooper.

"Obviously Rhian’s a player I know well, from my time with the national teams, which can be an important factor of these young players development now going on loans. We spoke to Liverpool at length in the summer and they didn’t think it was the right time for him to go out then, but obviously it is now.I think all players need [an arm around the shoulder]. That’s the certainly the culture we’re trying to create here at Swansea. We want the players to know how good they can be, and for them to really believe in themselves.
