Best Five Premier League clubs after first four fixtures – The Reds doing the business
Either or, it was always going to be one of two clubs making first and second place. The fight for top honours continues to be between second-place, Man City and first-place, Liverpool. (W3;D1;L0)
The second team of three to go untouched through the first four games with no losses and dropping only two points from the 12 played for. Only their small hiccup to consider, the Blues of Manchester have taken the top spots in almost every department besides the Premier League table.
Between them and Liverpool the battle is so stiff, an error by the narrowest of margins could be seen as a fatal blow in their title run. The Citizens brag the best-attacking team in the Premier League but was there ever a doubt of this happening.
Man City’s stats
- Most goals over four games – 14 goals
- Top goalscorer – Sergio Aguero (6 goals)
- Most assists (1st and 2nd place) – Kevin de Bruyne (5); David Silva (4)
- Most passes – 2483
Strongest Citizens
This could be the hardest pick, as most to almost all Pep’s men perform and gives him a 110% per 90 minutes. However, picking the best Man City player was based on a player that’s been doing it all. Passing, assisting, scoring and pulling the strings.
That player is Kevin De Bruyne. He makes the team tick and seems to have missed being the main man in a City jersey.
- Games played – 4
- Mins played – 328
- Goals scored – 1
- Assists – 5
Other players scoring goals and signing cheques are Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero. The two have been lethal in front of goal. Pep and his men take on surprise package, Norwich City. Surprising because they have one of the top goalscorers in the league but still fight relegation.
Should be a pushover for the back-to-back Premier League champions. Or are we in for a Teemu Pukki special?
