All good things must come to an end, and this ending Man City couldn’t be happier that it’s finally arrived. The Citizens retained their Premier League title after completing formalities over Brighton.

A Reds’ dream lasted for the short life spanned of one minute on the final day of fixtures. Glen Murray gave false hope to Liverpool when they went ahead in the clash with the champions. It took less than a minute to equalise, and less than 10 minutes to turn the game and 2018-2019 title in their favour.

The Reds inside Anfield did their job of beating the Wolves by two goals while keeping things tidy at the back with a clean sheet. Unfortunately, Pep’s side was after that 14th straight win, and they seized it without breaking a sweat.

Brighton 1-4 Man City
Liverpool 2-0 Wolves

Klopp’s men achieved their ninth straight win, losing only one game for the campaign. Tight margins and near misses was the theme in the pursuit for the Premier League crown. A point the only difference between first and second epitomizes how little room there was for error.

Pep’s record-breaking campaign was a worrying one. Goals not reached on the European stage, but amazingly still in the running for three of the four trophies they played for. The Spaniard becomes one of three managers to win back-to-back Premier League titles, and the first manager to win the league back-to-back in Spain, Germany and now England.

Klopp’s Liverpool record is a bit of a downer after a fantastic title push. The only team in EPL history to not win the title after being on top of the log after December. As well as being the first team not to win a league title after losing only one match.

All-in-all… One excellent fight in the most entertaining league in the world of football.
