Van Dijk’s Brace

Two of Liverpool’s goals came from an unlikely source. The game was wrapped up with a brace from Liverpool’s influential defender, Virgil van Dijk. The Liverpool No.4 scored two headers in the space of three minutes to put the game beyond doubt. Van Dijk has been in great form for the Red Men of late, his brace hasn’t done Liverpool’s goal difference any harm.

Klopp got the response he wanted from his team, they extend their unbeaten league run at Anfield to 35 games. Alexander-Arnold’s contribution of three assists will boost his confidence.

The Red Men returned to form just in time for the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Sunday. Watford can bounce back when they host Leicester City at Vicarage Road, also on Sunday.

The Premier League title race is alive and well, could it be Liverpool’s year?
