English Premier League: ICYM all the action and entertainment – Matchday 7 Saturday
The second meeting in the space of four days was much of the same as the first. The only differences? The venue changed and the result when the final whistle was blown.
We could debate all day about who was the better team on the day. But one thing we cannot ignore is Liverpool was the team with more clearcut opportunities and Chelsea’s able to play different styles of football under Sarri.
The Blues were first to draw blood thanks to some quick movement in turning defence into attack. A perfectly weighted pass, aided Hazard to his six of the season, and was almost enough to take all the points.
He was denied several times by the Liverpool number 1, Alisson. The stopper kept the Reds in the game, but it was still the Reds who made life difficult for themselves. Cleared twice off the line, only to be saved by the strike of the weekend.
Daniel’s late introduction by Klopp was rewarded with an outstanding effort to end the show at Stamford Bridge. Klopp’s side almost took total control at the Bridge, but it was also how Sarri was happy to do business with Klopp’s men.
It was actually a well-contested point played for by both teams. Both managers can walk away smiling from the last match of the Saturday. They both remain unbeaten for the Season, with Liverpool losing their 100% record for the first time this season.
