Was there a doubt of the result? Can’t say. A hot and clod performance by the home side sealed their own fate. The visitors eased to victory, even though it was only by two goals.

Pep got it right. A saying that will pop more than often. It was your typical Man City showing. While Arsenal showed some problems of before, small glimpses of a better system came to play, but not taking their changes was what aided to their failure in taking points.

Before the game kicked off, it was as if Man City’s first team missed training with Pep’s selection and Pep was punishing the lot. But like for like, the brilliant Manchester manager made changes and kept Arsenal on the back foot. A world-class squad of 22 men is what this Manchester side has.

Things were expected by Unai and his new ear in the Emirates. For what it’s worth, Arsenal should have tried to take all the points from the first whistle. Man City, like Liverpool, have kicked off their campaigns exactly where they left off. The Reds might have pulled off the most convincing victory. But it’s the previous champions who ended Matchday 1 on top of the toughest fixture of the weekend.
