Trent Alexander-Arnold

Affectionately known, by me at least, as “Young Trent,” (for ease’s sake apart from anything else), Alexander-Arnold’s revelation at Liverpool this season got rewarded with an England debut against Costa Rica.

Whilst his dead ball deliveries weren’t always perfect, he showed a level of responsibility and maturity in taking them.

I think Young Trent’s chances of starting are significant, predominantly because Kyle Walker will most likely play in the back three, not at wing-back.

Kieran Trippier came on later as a substitute, and whilst he looked assured on the ball, he didn’t take too many risks when it came to putting a delivery in the box. That’s not the Trippier I’ve become accustomed to, and potentially it’s a sign he shies away from risks on the big occasions.
