Tottenham played wonderfully in the first half against Juventus. They played well in the second half too. Spurs just did not play well for a five-minute span that cost them a spot in the quarterfinals.

Despite the loss, Tottenham put on two good performances against a very strong Juventus team. The future is bright for Spurs long-term. Short-term, things look complicated.

Harry Kane is out. That is the worst thing that could happen to Tottenham at this point in the season. Third place could be less likely with Kane out of the starting 11. Son Heung-Min must keep his goalscoring form while Dele Alli needs to get comfortable in a role that will require him to score more.

Fernando Llorente will be the starting striker over the next month and a half. Llorente has scored one goal in 14 EPL appearances. I think Spurs could be in trouble. Not being in the Champions League doesn’t help Pochettino staying or Kane thinking about a long future in London.
